Description: WEDNESDAYS 12:30-4:30PM @ ADA ***A MANDATORY ORIENTATION WILL TAKE PLACE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS***
Students must read chapters 1, 2, 3, 10 and 34 before the first day of class. Students can access a class supply list via the digital download provided at the time of registration. Additional requirements will be discussed at the orientation on the first day of class. 
Students must be able to pass a background check and drug screen test prior to beginning their clinical externship hours. If you have a felony or certain misdemeanors on your record, you may not be assigned to a clinical site. If you have any questions related to the background check or drug screening requirements, please contact Renee Brennan, Clinical Externship Coordinator directly by email at reneebrennan@cwi.edu or by phone at 208.562.2075. 
For ESL students, we recommend taking the CASAS test prior to registering for the Nursing Assistant class. Any student concerned about their ability to succeed in the class may also take the CASAS test free of charge. Please call 208.562.2575 for more information regarding the CASAS test. A computer with internet access is required. Once you have been registered, you will get an email with your username, password, and instructions on how to access your Blackboard account. Year three of the electrical apprenticeship program goes in-depth into the National Electrical Code to learn the proper design of various electrical installations. The student will learn to calculate service and individual loads for home and industry to ensure a safe and functional electrical system. Conductor sizing and protection, raceway fill, temperature issues, voltage drop, and box fill are covered. The student will also learn basic motor control and blueprint reading.
