Series : Electrical Apprentice Year 1 Series (A, B, C, & D)

Cost: $1,450.00   

Description: TEACHER LED SERIES. This class is offered in the Hyflex format, meaning the work can be accomplished online with the opportunity to attend weekly classes either In-person or via Zoom. This is four of 8-week courses that comprise the Year 1 Electrical Apprentice training. Year one of the electrical apprenticeship program covers DC theory, calculating electrical values using Ohm’s Law as applied to series, parallel, and combination circuits and electrical equipment. Electrical meters and their use are covered, as well as alternative energy sources. In addition, the student will overview the entire National Electrical Code and learn the proper application of various wiring methods and conductor properties, sizing, and protection.

Description: This series is ONLINE ONLY with no designated meeting times. This is all four of four 8-week courses that comprise the Year 2 Electrical Apprentice training. Year two of the Electrical Apprenticeship program covers AC theory including resistance, inductance, and capacitance. The student will learn 3-phrase power, transformers, motor operator, grounding, and calculating loads for sizing installations. These include circuit design for motors and transformers according to the National Electric Code.

Students must read chapters 1, 2, 3, 10 and 34 before the first day of class. Students can access a class supply list via the digital download provided at the time of registration. Additional requirements will be discussed at the orientation on the first day of class. 
Students must be able to pass a background check and drug screen test prior to beginning their clinical externship hours. If you have a felony or certain misdemeanors on your record, you may not be assigned to a clinical site. For ESL students, we recommend taking the CASAS test prior to registering for the Nursing Assistant class.
