Assistance With Medications

Qualify yourself to assist with medications in assisted living, group home, and certified family home settings. Upon completion of the course, you will know the legal requirements for assistance with medications, be able to identify safety factors involved, and know your responsibilities and restrictions when assisting with medications. A closed-book certification exam and skills exam are conducted at the end of class. Students must bring government-issued identification that includes a photograph and signature (i.e., driver's license, passport, state-issued identification card, military identification card) To request a vocabulary list and study guide email wd@cwi.edu Minimal requirements to successfully complete Assistance with Medications for Unlicensed Personnel (UAP) training program include the ability to read, speak, and write English. The learner is required to pass the course written exam with 80% accuracy. The test is provided in English and is written at a seventh-grade level of understanding. There may be an interpreter throughout the class time, but not during the actual testing. Testing will be without notes or assistance.
